You read that right, I am going to give you one of the first chances to play ‘Gears of War’ before anyone else. Read on for the background: ‘Gears of War’ is a sponsor of Megadeth’s ‘Gigantour.’ It turns out that Dave Mustaine was inspired by the theme of the game so he wrote a song called “Gears of War” for their upcoming album. You with me so far? Good…let’s continue: On Tuesday, October 31st (Halloween) Megadeth is appearing at Six Flags New England where they will debut that new song. Not wanting to miss a chance to hang with Megadeth (and head back home) I scored some passes for myself AND a few lucky readers…but not just any passes: VIP passes. These passes will get you into the park and the Megadeth show PLUS access to the VIP party where you'll get hands on gameplay with ‘Gears of War’ - a full week before the game releases. What's more, MTV will be filming part of the concert for an upcoming show. In addition, I’ll be getting the band on my show for my 200th episode. (Which reminds me..no show this week since I'll be travelling to attend the event, plus I really need to wait and get Megadeth on for my 200th show..right?)
Here is what you need to do: Send me an email with the subject line ‘I want to play Gears of War’ and in the body please tell me your gamertag. Please be within a reasonable driving distance of the park near Springfield, MA.
Note:You and your guest must be 18 or over to attend (sorry..those are the rules of the Park.) I’ll pull a few random winners from the emails I receive before Sunday Oct. 29 at 12n PT. You’ll win two tickets..one for you and one for a friend. Everything else is up to you. If you get picked, I’ll send you an email Sunday evening. Halo 3 demo due out in first half of 2007?
What we heard: Current and future Xbox 360 owners are eagerly awaiting any news coming out of the Halo 3 camp. Guarded by a steel curtain info embargo, details on the game are as scarce as unhumped corpses in multiplayer sessions of Halo 2.
What Halo fans do know is that the game is currently scheduled to come out sometime in 2007--hardly specific enough for the series' rabid fan base. However, that release window may have been narrowed slightly if a report from Game Informer Online is correct.
The Web site states that "sources" have tipped it off about a Halo 3 demo and that it will be released "in the first half of 2007." And that's really the nuts and bolts of the rumor...just some hearsay.
Gaming Business 101 states that demos for games should be released near the game's retail release for maximum effect. So does that mean the retail version of Halo 3 will arrive in the first half of 2007? That bit of information remains up in the air.

A 43.62MB download of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 has just hit the XBLA and is listed at a price of 800 points. The description on the Live Marketplace describes the game as "Single player, Xbox Live Multiplayer 2-4, HD (high-definition). Test your might! Try ULTIMATE Mortal Kombat 3 and see if you have what it takes to FIGHT!"
If you check under “New Releases” the game does not appear so you have to go to “All Arcade Titles” to find and download the game. This omission, and the date of the games release late on Friday night (rather than the usual Wednesday release of XBLA games) is leading many to believe the download has being added to the Marketplace by accident and it was not supposed to appear till a later date.
Here's the list of Achievements:
1. Flawless - Complete a Flawless victory against the CPU (1 round).
2. Fatality - Complete a Fatality during an Xbox Live Versus game.
3. Soother - Complete a Babality against the CPU.
4. My Friend - Complete a Friendship during an Xbox Live Versus game.
5. Combo Number 5 - Complete a 5 hit combo against the CPU.
6. Competitor - Win a total of 10 Xbox Live Ranked Versus matches.
7. Double Time - Complete a 2 hit combo against the CPU.
8. Match Three - Reach the third MATCH in any single player tournament.
9. Match Five - Reach the fifth MATCH in any single player tournament.
10. Century - Win a total of 100 Xbox Live Ranked Versus matches
